Testimonials
As part of the AIME program, I learned the necessary skills and capacities needed to thrive in my future workspace. As a student hesitant to focus on one certain career path, I chose to intern at the Disneyland Resort to explore a variety of fields and interests. As an AIME intern, I underwent a multitude of workshops dedicated to career readiness, ultimately culminating in an online presentation presented to dozens of Disney executives. The AIME program has broadened my social network and its connections will be invaluable to my future. Regardless of one’s career goals, the AIME program will ensure lifelong experience and advantages heading into the future workforce.
The AIME Internship program provides students a platform to explore and experience their passions carrying invaluable lifelong lessons along the way. I’ve always wanted to aid others and become a person who can give hope to their lives where becoming a doctor was my lifetime goal. Building hospitals in Ethiopia and tending to the lives in need became visible after AIME strengthened my want to become a healthcare professional within the field of medicine. Learning new skills and exploring other work practices gave me experience that helped me become knowledgeable in becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant and working at the Southern California Hospice Foundation. Knowing the positive impact AIME had students who did internships, I wanted to spread inclusivity with messages to both underclassmen and upperclassmen. My main mission installed various resources that display information about AIME and create workshops to prepare upperclassmen for AIME Summer Internships on a district level. I aimed to establish a tangible impact at Savanna High School and in the community regarding initiatives for hands-on experience in the career students ultimately seek to pursue.
This program is beyond amazing. I loved being able to see more into my community and see what happens in the work force. It also helped me see more careers and what they’re like. Which opened my eyes a lot more. I would totally tell my friends to join this program. Not only do you get a huge advantage by being able to see different careers. But you also meet great people. You meet students from many other schools. You meet the big people like our superintendent. In my case I got to meet John Chiang. California’s current treasurer and running candidate for governor. You learn to network. You develop a lot of communication skills. Over all AIME is enormous. It’s full of enormous and endless opportunities.
I chose 9 on a scale of 1-10 of how likely I am to recommend this internship program to a friend because I feel as though AIME was one of the most amazing learning experiences I have ever had. This program has allowed me to improve on my business skills, expand my network, and gain hands-on experience in the workforce. Overall, I feel as though I have grown both professionally and personally, and honestly, I wish it wouldn’t end.
This internship experience helped me keep an open mind about different careers and has now motivated me to pursue a career in transportation. I would have never thought of working in the transportation field until this internship. I would like others to have the same opportunity to explore their options like I did because it made me realize that I shouldn’t just limit myself to my first choice. I would also highly recommend this to next year’s juniors because it will get them a head start in the workforce.
I was making phone calls, talking to strangers, reaching out to people, and it was really encouraging to know that not only is it going to help me in college and beyond, but this is going to help me get back to who I was as a leader and student before the pandemic and become a better one even.
Coming into this program, I believed that I had my whole life planned out for myself. I thought I knew what college I wanted to go to, what major I was going into, and the career that I wanted to achieve. I was extremely wrong. Before you can actually say ”I want to be this”, “I want this job”, or “I want to major in this”, you need to experience that life before you jump right into it. You have to get your feet wet first. AIME pretty much changed my whole life.
This internship program has given me the motivation to get a higher education.
I have overcome my shyness, I ask questions with confidence, I improved my public speaking, and I have gained a deeper understanding on how to build relationships.
I learned how to communicate professionally, and I think that is a skill that is mandatory in the professional world in order to succeed.
I learned to assimilate into a working environment that was made up of people who were primarily much older than I was. It was quite intimidating at first, but I eventually learned how to be comfortable in the workplace.
As someone who attended a lot of AIME events, the Summer Internship was one of the highlights of my summer. Thanks to the AIME Program, I was able to intern at Satori Law and gain a glimpse of the future I wish to grow up with. By gaining hands-on experience, it only helped grow my interests and skills for the work field I wish to pursue in the future. Going into this program, my main goal for the year was to gain a better understanding of the different sub-fields within the law and determine which area I would like to specialize in. In that regard, I met and even exceeded my expectations. The people at Satori Law were so kind and helped guide me through the process of Estate Planning and Corporate Law. It provided me with valuable insights into the legal profession and exposed me to a new type of law, particularly in the area of trusts. I had the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals and learn from their expertise, which significantly contributed to my growth and development. Overall, this internship experience at Satori Law and AIME has been transformative. It solidified my passion for the legal field and helped me gain a deeper understanding of various aspects of law. I feel more confident in my legal knowledge and believe that this experience has helped pave the way for my future career in the field of law.
